But that is now a thing of the past after he obtained his CAF B Licence Coaching certificate recently alongside an esteemed group of coaches from national teams, the NFD, Hollywoodbets Super League as well as the DStv Premiership.
Tshabalala says he is now motivated to work even harder to step up to the next level and go all the way.
"It's very big and I am excited to see that I've finally acquired the required documents for one to be a coach whether in our league and even in the CAF Champions League. I think it's a big achievement for all of us as coaches,” Tshabalala said.
“It was frustrating always when we have to go and play in the CAF Champions League, one would be worried whether I'll be on the bench or not but finally we've got the documents that give us the right to sit on the bench and it's exciting, one just has to continue to keep on working very hard."

"Honestly speaking, it's not the easiest. It's very tough, it's very challenging, it demands a lot of coaches' knowlodge and credit must go to our association for implementing or should I say CAF for implementing this kind of courses,” he added.
“It opens our minds as coaches, it broadens our minds as to how things are done in football, wholistically. So, basically, the course was an eye-opener for some of us as coaches. There are some things that we need to fix in our coaching, in the manner that we coach."
