Man Utd eye Juventus star Douglas Luiz to address midfield concerns

The Brazilian international, who joined Juventus from Aston Villa in the summer for 42.35m pounds, has struggled for game time, starting just two of his 13 appearances in Turin.

With competition from the likes of Manuel Locatelli, Khephren Thuram, and Teun Koopmeiners, Luiz is said to be open to a departure after less than a season in Italy.

Juventus are willing to recoup part of their investment in Luiz or agree to a loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Additionally, the Italian club are exploring a potential swap deal involving Bayern Munich's Joshua Zirkzee, who is reportedly on their radar to compete with Dusan Vlahovic.

Manchester United's interest in Luiz comes amid growing concerns about the performances of senior midfielders Casemiro and Christian Eriksen.

Manager Amorim sees bolstering the midfield as a priority, and Luiz's versatility could address this need.

Kio Joorabchan, the agent representing both Luiz and Zirkzee, is expected to play a key role in facilitating negotiations.

While United appear to be front-runners, two unnamed Premier League clubs have also expressed interest in Luiz this month, potentially complicating the situation.
