Man Utd's Ruben Amorim has sought help for anger issues in the past

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim reportedly went through anger management in the past to deal with his fiery temper.

Amorim has faced scrutiny after an incident following a 3-1 loss to Brighton, where he reportedly lashed out at players and smashed a television during a heated dressing room rant.

These displays of frustration are not new for Amorim. Sources suggest he has a history of anger management struggles, for which he has undergone therapy.

Bruno Simao, a childhood friend and former teammate, described Amorim as someone who "exploded" often but never completely lost his composure.

"Honestly, I've never felt that he struggled to control his nerves.

"At the beginning of his career, he was very emotional - he would explode a lot, but not in a bad way, not with the players, but in the heat of the moment and all that.

"But I've always thought he had a strong mental and psychological foundation. And that's why I've always said that his communication skills are incredible.

"He knows every moment of the game, he knows how to get into the player's head and win the group's trust."

On the pitch, Manchester United's performance under Amorim has been underwhelming.

Having succeeded Erik ten Hag as manager, Amorim has struggled to inspire consistent results, even describing his squad as "the worst" in the club's history.
