Man Utd struggling to offload Alejandro Garnacho in January

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is set to remain at Old Trafford in January, with limited transfer interest diminishing the likelihood of a move.

Despite being regarded as a rising European talent, Garnacho's stock has dropped since Ruben Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag as manager.

Amorim's tactical overhaul, centred around a 3-4-3 formation, has reshaped the club's plans, leaving Garnacho struggling for opportunities.

Garnacho has made only five appearances under Amorim, falling behind Amad Diallo in the pecking order.

Diallo's impressive performance in United's recent victory over Manchester City further cemented his place in Amorim's plans, leading to Garnacho's exclusion from the squad.

The club values Garnacho highly, reportedly setting a price tag exceeding 60 million pounds, which would represent pure profit under Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) due to his free transfer from Atletico Madrid in 2020.

While potential suitors like Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked, none have made concrete moves.

Atletico face strained relations with Garnacho after his prior exit, and Barcelona remain hampered by financial constraints. PSG's interest, meanwhile, has not progressed beyond monitoring.

United are under financial pressure to comply with PSR regulations, aiming to fund squad adjustments by offloading players.

High-salary stars such as Marcus Rashford, Casemiro, and Antony have proven difficult to sell, making Garnacho a more viable candidate for transfer.
