Manchester City announce Omar Marmoush signing

Manchester City have announced the capture of Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 25-year-old joins the Premier League club on a four-and-a-half-year contract in a deal reportedly costing up to £70m.

Marmoush has been in top form in the Bundesiga this season, scoring 15 goals, and creating 15 from 17 league games.

Harry Kane is currently the German league's top-scorer with 16 goals.

The new Citizens striker expressed his delight at the deal, stating, "Manchester City is one of the biggest clubs in the world over the past 10 years, so it was not a question.

"It's a pleasure and an honour for me and my family to be representing Manchester City. It makes them happy; it makes me happy that my dreams are becoming a reality.

"The last two seasons have been great, but it is just the beginning for me."

He added: "On the pitch I am fast, good on the ball, I try to see where the spaces are and exploit the spaces - and I'm dangerous.

"My main strength I would say is that I always want to win - that is from a character point of view."

Marmoush is an accomplished international with 35 caps and six goals.

He has previously turned out for VF Wolfsburg, FC St. Pauli and VfB Stuttgart, having made his name in Egypt with Wadi Degla.

Joining Marmoush at City is 19-year-old Brazilian defender Vitor Reis from Palmeiras and Uzbekistan defender Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens.
