While again bemoaning the ongoing wait for a meeting with his PSL counterparts ahead of the recent AFCON qualifiers against Congo Republic, Broos explained how this would aid his understanding of Mngqithi's recent omissions of Mudau and Mokwena at Sundowns.
However, The Brazilians mentor did not take kindly to the Belgian trying to meddle in his club's affairs, as he launched a scathing attack.
"He must manage his house and allow me to manage my house because nobody tells him who to play in his team, and I cannot be expected to be told by another coach who to play in my team," responded Mngqithi.
"The truth is, we all know the quality of the players and they are going to help us – we don't have any problems with them, we have resolved whatever minor issues we may have had.
"But each man for his own family. We must take care of our spaces, nobody says anything when he [Broos] plays eight defenders, we keep quiet because it's his choice, and I respect him.
"I respect him as a coach, he has done very well for the country, everybody is excited that he got a bronze [medal at AFCON], so he must understand that we have a responsibility to manage our own squads, just like he is managing his squad."
Mngqithi also gave a grim update on talisman Themba Zwane’s injury, as he confirmed the 35-year-old will likely be sidelined for up to six months after he injured his Achilles.
"The report that we got about Themba is that it's a partial rupture, which could be around 3-4 months, but clinically they had said it's a grade three, but I think we will get better feedback this afternoon because he's going for surgery," he noted.
"So the possibility is [that he will be out for] between four to six months."
