Speaking to SABC Sport’s Thabiso Mosia on his Radio 2000 sports show, Game On, Nduna dismissed reports linking the club to the new move, adding that they also had no intention of relinquishing their status.
Marumo Gallants is enjoying their first season in the Betway Premiership after buying the status of the troubled Moroka Swallows.
Nduna further explains.
"We saw those reports last week and it caught us by surprise because we are not sure where those rumours are coming from. There's nothing like that, we've never had any consultation, any requests, any discussions around the status,” Nduna said.
“Marumo Gallants' status stays and remains and we don't have any intention whatsoever to relinquish the status or maybe to join forces with someone or any consortium.
“There's no proof in those stories, we were also surprised but currently what we are doing, is continuing to build the brand Marumo Gallants, that's why even today we announced three signings that Marumo Gallants supporters as well as football lovers are going to enjoy watching moving forward."
To further cement his point, Nduna revealed that Marumo Gallants recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Mangaung Metro Municipality regarding the usage of facilities in the area, saying it is a clear indication that they are not going anywhere.
"I can also confirm to you that about two months back we signed an MOU with Mangaung Metro Municipality with regards to the usage of the facilities around here. We signed a three-year deal with Mangaung Metro Municipality and I'll also like to take this opportunity and thank them for allowing us into their city and also making sure that whenever we have got league matches or cup games, we've got the best facilities,” he added.
“And also when you look at the state of the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium it's one of the stadiums that we normally want to make sure that we create a difficult situation for our visiting teams whenever they come here.
“I can safely say the president of the team Dr Abraham Sello has got no intentions whatsoever to move the team. Even if it happens that there could be a second team around the city, we'll stay as Marumo Gallants Football Club."
