Mohammed Kudus faces potential six-match ban

Mohammed Kudus could miss up to a month of football for West Ham following his red card in the 4-1 defeat to Tottenham at the weekend.

Kudus opened the scoring for the Hammers at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on just 18 minutes.

Dejan Kulusevski levelled with 36 minutes played before Yves Bissouma put Spurs ahead with his goal on 52 minutes.

An Alphonse Areola own-goal on 55 minutes put the home side further in command of the tie, and the points were secured when Son Heung-min got in on the act on the hour mark.

Kudus, meanwhile, saw red after clashing with Tottenham's Micky van de Ven in the second half.

The Ghana international kicked the ball at Van de Ven during a heated exchange that also saw him push the defender in the face, while also confronting Richarlison and Pape Mate Sarr.

He now faces a potential six-match ban

Former Premier League referee Mike Dean said on Ghanasoccernet: "When you look at the footage, he could have been sent off for the first incident alone."

"Because he hit two different players in the face, I think the FA will act on both [and the suspension extended]."
