Nasreddine Nabi: Honestly, I'm very sorry for the result

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has once again asked for patience from club supporters as pressure mounts.

The Glamour Boys slumped to their 10th defeat in the Betway Premiership on Saturday afternoon when they were beaten 2-1 by Golden Arrows at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

A few of the irate fans called for Nabi’s head with the Soweto giants now at risk of dropping out of the top eight if results do not improve.

The Tunisian-born mentor, who is in his first season at Chiefs, says the only way to restore order is to be given more time.

"I think the conclusion is we need to score – if you want to win, you need to score. If you control the game – we looked at the statistics after the game, it was all for Kaizer Chiefs.

"And it was not the first game [where that's the case], majority of the games are like that. I think the solution is 100 percent clear, maybe the time for us [to change] some things is not now.

"But my message [to the fans] is patience. We don't have any solution now, but stay patient and continue to support the team, but I trust the fans of Kaizer Chiefs, they love the team too much.

"I want patience, give me patience. I'm very sorry, honestly, I'm very sorry for the result. I am the first man with big frustration."

Nabi also appealed that the fans refrain from “abusing” the players, as boos were prevalent inside the stadium, particularly after Yusuf Maart's missed penalty early on.

"We understand altogether the frustration for the team in this moment, but please don't panic. We'll continue to work seriously, give 200 percent for the club.

"But don't panic please, and don't attack the players – I offer to attack me now, it's normal, but don't attack the players. Protect the team and the players because the season is not finished, and I'm sure we will change the situation."
