Nasreddine Nabi will return the glory days to Naturena – Lucas Radebe

Kaizer Chiefs legend and former Bafana Bafana captain Lucas “Rhoo” Radebe believes coach Nasreddine Nabi will bring back Amakhosi’s glory days.

Radebe, played for Chiefs in the early 1990s before he was sold to then English Premier League (EPL) club Leeds United at the dawn of democracy in South Africa in 1994.

He has not hidden his dissatisfaction over the years about his former club’s decline in the Premier Soccer League (PSL), but after the first two matches of the season, Radebe is seeing some positive light.

"Khosi for life, I think we've seen now how Kaizer Chiefs show their intentions in Nabi and his technical team and actually with the players that they are bringing into the team. That shows that at least they wanna do things better and I believe there is a lot of progress that we've seen so far and we're hoping that the great days are coming back in Naturena," Radebe said.

One of the biggest talking points in the past few weeks has been the continuous absence of Bafana Bafana key players Teboho Mokoena and Khuliso Mudau in the Mamelodi Sundowns match day squads.

There’s been no official confirmation behind their absence, but speculation is rife that this is due to internal disciplinary issues around the two players within the club.

Since the last Bafana Bafana camp, the players have now missed four matches, and Radebe is concerned about their preparedness for the AFCON qualifiers against Congo in the next two weeks.

"No, but I think we've seen with the big games where we had difference centre backs, where I think it's very important for Hugo Broos to get more depth into the team. To do that, it's a slow build-up, it will take a while to get the players that we need to be part of the national team going forward to evade these kind of problems that you are talking about in terms of not having the regular players."
