Nations League wrap: Greece stun England, France cruise, Italy held

Greece stunned England in the UEFA Nations League, Italy's Group A2 lead slipped after a draw with Belgium, and France eased past Israel in Thursday's action.

England 1-2 Greece

Greece made history by securing their first-ever win against England, thanks to two second-half goals from Vangelis Pavlidis, including a dramatic winner in added time. The visitors dominated early moments, with Tasos Bakasetas denied by a remarkable goal-line clearance from Levi Colwill.

The breakthrough came shortly after the interval when Pavlidis sliced through the England defence to score beneath Jordan Pickford. England's Jude Bellingham equalised late on, but Pavlidis struck again in the 94th minute to seal an incredible victory for Ivan Jovanović's men.

Israel 1-4 France

France reduced the gap behind Italy in Group A2 with a convincing 4-1 win. Captain Aurelien Tchouameni led the side in the absence of Kylian Mbappe, but it was Eduardo Camavinga who made headlines by scoring the opener just seven minutes in, capitalising on a mistake from Israel's goalkeeper Omri Glazer.

Israel briefly equalised through Omri Gandelman, but Christopher Nkunku restored the lead shortly after. Late goals from Matteo Guendouzi and Bradley Barcola rounded off a solid performance for Didier Deschamps' team.

Italy 2-2 Belgium

In Rome, Italy's Lorenzo Pellegrini received a red card, turning the tide against Belgium. The Azzurri started strong, with Andrea Cambiaso and Mateo Retegui scoring early.

However, Belgium capitalised on the numerical advantage, with Maxim De Cuyper and Leandro Trossard both finding the net to level the match.

Norway 3-0 Slovenia

Erling Haaland has become Norway's all-time leading goalscorer.

The Manchester City striker went into Thursday night's Nations League clash against Slovenia only one behind Jorgen Juve, who scored his 33 goals nearly a century ago.

It took Haaland only seven minutes to equal the mark, the 24-year-old converting a rebound in emphatic fashion. Alexander Sorloth got the second goal in the 52nd minute.

And in the 62nd minute he tucked a side-footed effort into the bottom corner, to make it 3-0, for his 34th international goal to hold the record outright.
