New AmaZulu coach set to land on Thursday

Newly appointed AmaZulu FC coach Pablo Franco Martins will arrive in South Africa on Thursday SABC Sport understands.

Last week Usuthu confirmed the appointment of the former Real Madrid assistant coach and according to insiders in the club, the Spaniard is set to land at the King Shaka International Airport on Thursday afternoon, with supporters expected to give him a warm welcome.

"The coach is landing on Thursday afternoon, around 17:00. The supporters have been informed to come in their numbers to welcome him" - insiders told SABC Sport on Monday evening.

It is also understood that the coach will come with his own technical team, as the club currently have Sboniso Vilakazi as the only coach, who has been helping players since they came back from holiday.

The club's president Sandile Zungu speaking with Ukhozi FM last week Monday, confirmed that they have given the coach freedom to choose who he wants to work with but have someone that understands the club to be around him.

"We will not choose anyone for the coach, we want him to have his own assistant. We would like to have someone, who understands Usuthu to assist him" - Zungu told Victor Molefe.
