The Serbian was speaking to the media after guiding Galaxy to the Carling Knockout Cup final following a thrilling 3-2 win over AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday to set up a meeting with Stellenbosch FC.
Ramovic insists he only wants a squad of players with exceptional characteristics.
"It's not so easy like people think with clubs that don't have the financial power. So, you have to get players, again, find players that have a great character, that have a great lifestyle because in my team, no alcohol, no partying, no lifestyle with 'I don't care'. If you want to do this, you are out," Ramovic said.
The coach used veterans Bernard Parker and Vuyo Mere as examples of footballers with longevity in the game, and he says it’s near impossible to follow in their footsteps without making sacrifices.
"If we want to improve, if we want to succeed, we need players because soccer is short. It's not about 50 years, it's about 10 years, eight years, five years and if you are lucky 15 years. So, you will not always see players like Parker that stand so long in this business. You will not see players like Vuyo that will stay but if you watch them, the lifestyle that they have is just amazing," Ramovic added.
Ramovic was appointed Galaxy head coach in October 2021, and has come to be known for his outspoken nature.
He says having people around him with the same work ethic is non-negotiable.
"If the players understand this that if we are here, I'm not here for fun, I didn't come here, far away from my parents, far away from my brothers, sisters, friends to just have fun. I'm here to work, I'm here to work hard and have success and to win. So, I need also the players around me, I need staff around me that does [this] every day to repeat the best they can do."
