Before the recent partnership between SuperSport United and Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Ladies FC, Galaxy were one of only three South African football clubs with both men's and women's teams competing in the country's top leagues.
Speaking to SABC Sport, the 2021/2022 Hollywoodbets Super League top goal scorer - with then club JVW - says for Sukazi, having a women's team is more than just a box-ticking exercise.
"They closed the gap in women's football and they treat us well. Bhut’ Tim starting a women's football club shows that he cares about women's football. He also comes to camp to talk to us and also attends our games, you can see that he's happy to have us here. He travels with us and even shares important information with us, we feel at home," Nyandeni said.
Furthermore, the former Banyana Banyana striker hopes other Premier Soccer League teams will follow suit, as she believes this will increase the standard of women's football in South Africa. So long as it isn't carried out just for the sake of it.
"Playing for a professional [Premier Soccer League] PSL team inspires one to act professional at all times. We see how professional men, PSL players behave, so we also want to be like them. I hope they [PSL clubs] all end up like TS Galaxy, Mamelodi Sundowns, Royal AM in including their female players in all that they do. They shouldn't start a women's team just for the sake of starting it."
