The dynamic right-back, who swapped Bayern Munich for Old Trafford last summer, didn't hesitate when asked to pick his standout teammate from a career already packed with elite names.
"I've played with some quite good players," Mazraoui said in an interview on Manchester United's official website. "But I have to go with Jamal Musiala. He did crazy things."
The Moroccan defender's time alongside Musiala at Bayern clearly left a mark, with the young German's flair and fearless style standing out even among a galaxy of stars.
Mazraoui has hit the ground running in Manchester, racking up 40 appearances this season after his move. His two-year stint with Bayern Munich saw him feature 55 times, but it's his United form that's keeping him in the spotlight.
Meanwhile, back in Bavaria, Bayern Munich are wrestling with their own squad decisionsânone more debated than the future of Leon Goretzka.
Reports from German media have suggested Bayern are ready to part ways with Goretzka come the summer, despite his contract running until 2026. The 30-year-old midfielder, however, has other ideas. His latest statement of intent came in Bayern's 3-1 victory over VfB Stuttgart on Friday, where he smashed home the winning goal to underline his enduring value.
Bayern legend Lothar Matthaus has urged the club to think twice before letting Goretzka go. Speaking to Sky Germany, Matthaus said: "He's having his second summerâdespite all the stories around him. If you saw him in Stuttgartânot just because of the goal, but how much desire he had, how viciously he playedâI'd consider extending Goretzka's contract if I were Bayern Munich."
Matthaus didn't stop there. "He's an important player and has influence in the dressing room," he added. "You need players like that in your teamânot just artists like Wirtz and Musiala, but those who do the dirty work and win tackles.
"Bayern Munich are very well positioned in that respect." He also nodded to Konrad Laimer as another example of the grit every top side craves.
As Bayern weigh up their optionsâwith young Hoffenheim star Tom Bischof set to join their midfield ranks in the summerâGoretzka's fight for his future adds another layer of intrigue.
For Mazraoui, now thriving in red, Musiala remains the benchmark of brilliance. But in Munich, Goretzka's proving there's still room for warriors alongside the wizards.
