Nuno Espirito Santo inspired by Brian Clough's exploits with Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo is proud to be managing the club where the legendary Brian Clough achieved so many impressive feats.

Friday marked 20 years since the death of Forest's most successful manager, who led them to a First Division title, back-to-back European Cups and four League Cups in the 1970s and 1980s.

Nuno, who has guided the current crop to an unbeaten start to the season, says he is inspired by Clough.

"When you work for Forest, the difference is what you see - and how great Brian was," he said ahead of Sunday's trip to Brighton.

"He made history that is very hard to repeat.

"At the same time, it was a dream - it is there, it was proven what is possible.

"We have to dedicate ourselves so much to honour his memory.

"It is proud for me and my coaching staff to be able to manage Forest, it is one of the big clubs.

"It's a pleasure to be working here.

"When you look back and you see Forest made something great, you have the ambition to repeat it, that can guide you and feed you, but it doesn't change you - we are very proud to be at Forest, but what Brian Clough did is very difficult to achieve.

"Everyone's aware times are different - it's huge, so let's keep our feet on the ground."
