Forward Oliver Burke will return to England, leaving SV Werder Bremen to join FC Millwall on loan until the end of the season.
Currently in 8th place in the Championship, Millwall will benefit from Burke's expertise, who previously had a successful loan stint with the club.
SV Werder Bremen licensing director, Clemens Fritz, explains the reasoning behind the move, "An opportunity arose for Oliver to play more, which he wasn't getting with us. We agreed to loan him to Millwall, where he has already had positive experiences."
At 25-years-old, Burke has made 15 appearances for Bremen this season and has scored two goals. Fritz adds, "We still see great potential in him and hope he can continue to develop his game with more playing time. He will return to Bremen in the summer."
Last spring, Burke scored two goals during his loan at Millwall from Sheffield United, and has also added two Bundesliga goals to his tally this year.
Bremen are confident that Burke will continue to impress and grow with the extra playing time. Fritz added, "We have not written him off, we still see enormous potential in him."
