The French star has opted not to trigger his ¬50 million release clause, affirming his commitment to the team.
With a contract in place until June 30, 2024, Dembele wholeheartedly believes in Xavi's vision for the team and is eager to be a part of it in the coming season.
A meeting between the player's representative, Moussa Sissoko, and Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff from the club confirmed his intentions, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
At 26 years old, Dembele, formerly of Dortmund, remains steadfast in his belief that the club is on the right path, and he is determined to clinch the coveted Champions League title in the near future. Negotiations between the parties are ongoing to secure a contract extension beyond the following year, with the club seeking to keep him until 2027.
Last summer, the French international signed a two-year extension, and Xavi's presence as coach played a crucial role in his decision.
Despite facing injuries, Dembele's progress has been positive, and he is content with life in Barcelona, aiming to add more titles to his name as a Blaugrana player.
