Augsburg's Patric Pfeiffer has explained his switch from Germany to Ghana, is driven by a deep affection for the West African country.

The 24-year-old, who previously played for Germany's youth teams, completed his nationality switch after a prolonged two-year wait due to passport complications.

Pfeiffer shared his motivations in an interview with IDiski Times, revealing that his affinity for Ghana's culture and lifestyle was the primary reason behind his choice.

"Ghana is my motherland. I love the vibes and the food. I was born and raised in Germany, but I love Ghana," Pfeiffer said.

Having finally secured his Ghanaian passport, Pfeiffer is enthusiastic about the prospect of representing the Black Stars.

The defenders inclusion in the squad is expected to strengthen Ghana's defence, plus with his passion for the country making him a perfect fit.

Pfeiffer is hopeful for a call-up from Ghana coach Otto Addo for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification campaign, which is set to commence in September.
