The champions were uncharacteristically sloppy as they slumped to their first Premier League loss of the season at Molineux last weekend.
It came at the end of a miserable week in which the club were also dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Newcastle.
They got back to winning ways with a hard-fought 3-1 victory at RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday and Foden, who opened the scoring, wants to carry the momentum to the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners were City's closest title rivals last season and the England international is well aware of the importance of their early-season encounter.
The 23-year-old said: "We were disappointed with the last two results.
"Wolves was a bit of a bad game for us. Teams aren't stupid, they study us and know what we're doing. They played defensive and the tactics worked, there was no space to create things.
"We have to put up with it. Most teams play like this against us and we have to find our way through.
"It was an unfortunate result but we're still top of the league and if we can go and beat Arsenal we can make it right.
"It was important to get back to winning ways and put a solid performance out and there's no better team to do that against than Leipzig. They're a quality side and we controlled the game well.
"Now we've got the big one against Arsenal coming up. We have to recover and be ready for the fight.
"It's not going to decide the league but it's a massive game and one we want to win."
There has been some debate this season over Foden's most effective position for club and country.
He has principally shone in wider roles for City but injury to Kevin De Bruyne has seen him deployed more centrally this term.
He said: "There's still loads to improve but the more games I get in there there's loads of things I can pick up from playing.
"I'm delighted with Wednesday night. I created a few chances and got on the scoresheet which is important.
"It will take time but I'm looking forward to getting more time in there and learning the role better."
