Mosimane, who is back in the country for a vacation after he was relegated from the Saudi Pro League with Abha FC, says new opportunities are currently opening up.
The former Al Ahly (Egypt) and Al Ahli (Saudi Arabia) mentor says, with clubs like Wydad Casablanca and Esperance de Tunis heading to the expanded 32-team FIFA Club World Cup next year, Mosimane says he’s not short of options.
"This thing now has opened up a lot. This thing of going to the World Cup, with FIFA creating a little bit more of an incentive for clubs – Esperance, Wydad, Al Ahly, and Mamelodi Sundowns, of course, so they now have budgets," said Mosimane.
"Teams receive a R1 billion, so they can plan how they do things and all that. This is what I'm saying – our South African teams, can they see this thing? You know what I'm trying to say.
"So, we can't all just rely on sponsors to generate revenues. The dollars are there, so you can earn them as a club - unlike waiting to fill the stadium, or waiting for the prize moneys to do all these things."
Meanwhile, Mosimane congratulated Raja Casablanca assistant coach Fadlu Davids after he recently graduated with a UEFA Pro licence.
"It's brilliant to get UEFA Pro Licence, and working at Raja – they are winning the league, with Zinnbauer. I sat with Zinbbauer's agent, we had coffee and he spoke to me about the coach," said Mosimane.
"It's good projects. I'm happy for my [fellow] South African coaches – we have to be in North Africa, and they can follow. Now we're in the Gulf, and I think they can follow also.
"So, it's not about who has done what, it's about trying to show our coaches that it is possible."
Davids, who on Friday won the Botola Pro League title with Raja under the stewardship of former Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer, was assisted by Mosimane when he initially started his coaching badges more than 10 years ago.
