It was the battle of third versus fourth in the PSL, with a chance for fourth-placed Sekhukhune to close the gap on third-placed Polokwane with a victory away from home.
It wasn't to be, however, as Sekhukhune's two-game winning streak was halted, forcing them to settle for a share of the spoils that still leaves them five points behind Rise and Shine in the battle for the top three.
The hosts took the lead ten minutes before half-time when Raymond Daniels' deflected strike wrong-footed goalkeeper Badra Ali Sangare.
However, Sekhukhune responded just before the break when Tresor Yamba headed home from a Keletso Makgalwa cross to level the scores.
Polokwane threatened to reclaim the lead in the second half, with Daniels forcing a key save from Sangare in a one-on-one situation. Despite their momentum, Sekhukhune made tactical changes to regain control, introducing Relebogile Mokhuoane and Lesedi Kapinga for fresh energy.
The tempo slowed in the closing stages as steady rain made the pitch increasingly difficult to play on. Neither side was able to find a winner, and the match ended all square.
