Randal Kolo Muani, Alexander Isak and others linked with Arsenal moves

Arsenal have been presented with an opportunity to sign Randal Kolo Muani this January, as Paris Saint-Germain have indicated they are ready to move on from the French striker.

After his transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt for a hefty 95 million euros in 2023, Kolo Muani's performance, with just nine goals in 40 games last season, has not met expectations. This season, he has struggled further, starting only twice in Ligue 1.

The Daily Mail has reported that PSG have opened discussions for a potential move for Kolo Muani, who has managed 80 goals across his career.

Journalist Sami Mokbel has noted that Mikel Arteta is "desperately pushing" for an attacker, with Kolo Muani's ability to play on the right wing also appealing, especially with Bukayo Saka sidelined due to a hamstring injury until March.

However, Arteta's primary focus is on securing a new number 9 to complement or challenge Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. The dream signing according to media sources would be Newcastle's Alexander Isak, who has been in exceptional form this season.

Discussions about Isak were serious before Edu's departure from Arsenal, but any move would be complicated by Newcastle's high valuation, rumoured to start at 115 million pounds, potentially setting a new British transfer record.

Isak's contract runs until 2028, and there's been no progress on a new deal, which might open a window for transfer bids. David Ornstein has previously discussed Isak's potential, stating, "We have seen how unbelievably good he is when he's fit and in a rhythm."

Besides Kolo Muani and Isak, Arsenal are also monitoring Brighton's Evan Ferguson and Eintracht Frankfurt's Omar Marmoush, both of whom have impressed in their respective leagues.

RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko remains on their radar after a failed summer move, and Wolves' Matheus Cunha, with his 10 goals and four assists this season, is another name linked with Arsenal.

In a surprising twist, Arsenal have also been mentioned as potential suitors for Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku. Despite scoring 12 goals in 27 games, Nkunku's limited playtime in the Premier League, just 391 minutes, has led to speculation about his future.

Fabrizio Romano has provided insights into what it would take for Chelsea to entertain offers for Nkunku.

As the January transfer window opens, Arsenal's pursuit of a new striker seems to be gaining momentum, with multiple high-profile targets in their sights. However, the costs and complexities of securing these players will test Arteta's strategy and the club's financial commitments.
