The 19-year-old winger made a name for himself with four goals and four assists in 46 appearances for Bruges last season, attracting interest from several Premier League clubs.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur both engaged in talks to sign Nusa, while Brentford had even agreed on a million euro (£28.2m) deal in January.
However, complications in the final stages of the transfer window caused the move to collapse.
Despite the transfer saga, Nusa has remained a key player for Brugge this season, starting in three of their first four matches and already registering an assist.
Since joining the Belgian side from Stabaek in 2021, where he made 13 senior appearances, Nusa has grown into one of Norway's brightest prospects.
He earned his first senior cap for Norway last year and has since represented his country seven times.
Leipzig, under coach Marco Rose, have been busy in the transfer market, highlighted by the 60 million euro sale of Spain international Dani Olmo to Barcelona.
They also offloaded Angelino to AS Roma and brought in Martin Vandervoort and Assan Ouedraogo from Genk and Schalke, respectively.
Leipzig are set to begin their season with a DFB Pokal match against Essen, followed by their Bundesliga opener at home against Bochum.
