According to a report from Portuguese outlet Record, Real Madrid viewed the 19-year-old as a potential central defensive solution. Despite their interest, they are unlikely willing to pay his release clause to secure his signature.
Silva began his youth career with CF Os Repesenses before spending a year with Viseu United. However, he rose to prominence after joining Benficas fabled youth division in 2016. He has since become a regular for the club, with three goals in 32 appearances across all competitions this season.
Real Madrid are in need a new centre-back in the upcoming summer transfer window, with Nacho expected to leave as a free agent. Meanwhile, David Alaba has struggled with fitness issues, and the Merengues will likely need to invest in a centre-back for the fourth successive summer transfer window.
Josko Gvardiol has emerged as the top target, but Antonio Silva has also caught their attention.
While other clubs, including Liverpool, are also interested in Silva, it is unlikely that any team will trigger his ¬100million release clause.
It remains to be seen if any club will launch an offensive for the Portuguese defensive sensation in the summer transfer window.
