As earlier reported by SABC Sport, Mofokeng jetted out of the country over the weekend after being invited for an assessment in England, where the identity of the club was not yet established.
However, during his Carling Knockout pre-match press conference in Parktown, Johannesburg on Wednesday afternoon, Riveiro confirmed that Wolves is in fact his destination.
"He's in the UK [United Kingdom], he's having a trial period with Wolves," said the Spaniard, when asked of the 18-year-old's whereabouts.
Asked by SABC Sport of the player's readiness, Riveiro did not hesitate to declare the Bucs youth graduate fully capable of taking his career to the next level despite his young age.
"About Rele, I'm absolutely convinced that he's ready for whatever is coming. He's in a proper age. Maybe here [in SA], it looks like early at 18, but not for me.
"If you follow the current trends in Europe, 18, 17, 19, 20 – it's really frequent in top teams to get your first minutes in the first team."
The former Celta Vigo youth coach further stressed that the mentality needs to change regarding youngsters' readiness for professional football, while he hopes Mofokeng will grab his opportunity and inspire others to follow in his steps.
"We have to little by little, probably, also change our decisions on youngsters. When you are ready, you are ready. It doesn't matter if you're 18 or 28," Riveiro noted.
"If you have the [required] level, you have the level. In this case, we all know the type of talent that Rele has, and everything is in his hands now to use this opportunity.
"We are, trust me, more than happy to see Rele in his this situation. Hopefully he can make it, and hopefully he's not the last one [to move abroad]."
