Relentless attitude part of Cote d’Ivoire’s strength – Michaël Seri

Cote d’Ivoire midfielder Michaël Seri says their relentless spirit is part of the reason why they now find themselves in AFCON final - where they will face Nigeria on Sunday at the Olympic Stadium.

The Elephants narrowly beat DR Congo 1-0 courtesy of a goal from striker Sebastien Haller to edge closer to a second title in nine years.

Seri shared his thoughts on the match.

''It was a great game. We gave it our all and we're happy with the results. The spirit of the team is amazing, we have been together from start to finish,'' said Seri.

It took the sacking of coach Jean-Louis Gasset and the appointment of former player Emerse Faé to change the mindset.

Seri says they never looked back.

''This makes the difference at every game as you can see, by the grace of God we did it. The courage and the belief we had amongst the teammates - we got what we deserve,'' added Seri.

With Nigeria up next, Seri didn’t go into too much detail considering they were still basking in the win over DRC.

He says they will study Nigeria in the coming days.

''We are going to rest well, watch some clips and see how we can make it difficult for them,'' he concluded.
