Report: Al-Hilal eye Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez

Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez has emerged as a potential departure from Anfield, with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal reportedly keen on acquiring the Uruguayan star.

Al-Hilal manager Jorge Jesus, who previously coached Nunez during their time at Benfica, is eager for a reunion and sees him as an ideal fit for the club's strategy of targeting players in their prime.

Nunez joined Liverpool in 2022 as their second-most expensive signing, following a stellar campaign with Benfica that included scoring against elite clubs in the Champions League.

However, his time at Anfield has been marked by inconsistent opportunities. This season, under manager Arne Slot, Nunez has started only seven matches, with Luis Diaz preferred in the No. 9 role.

Despite scoring 22 goals in 80 Premier League appearances, Nunez has struggled to cement his place in Liverpool's starting XI.

Liverpool are currently in excellent form, topping the Premier League, leading the Champions League group phase, and advancing to the FA Cup's fourth round.

However, reports suggest the club may consider cutting their losses on Nunez to refine their squad further.

Sources including Anfield Watch and Spanish outlet Fichajes confirm Al-Hilal's interest, signalling a potential big-money move.
