Report: Barcelona set to lose teenage forward Marc Guiu to Chelsea

Barcelona had reportedly been keen to keep Guiu, whose current contract runs until 2025.

According to Sport, the Catalan club even offered him a new deal, but negotiations seem to have stalled.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have emerged as the frontrunners after positive talks over the weekend. Reports from Jijantes suggest that Bayern Munich were also interested, but Guiu is understood to be close to finalising personal terms with the Premier League outfit.

Barcelona's financial struggles are a significant factor in this potential loss.

While the club have a decent track record of retaining their young talents, they lack the financial muscle to compete with the likes of Chelsea.

Letting Guiu go would be a blow to their long-term plans, but the €6million fee would provide a much-needed short-term financial boost.
