Atletico Madrid are reportedly tracking Fiorentina holding midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly tracking Fiorentina and Morocco holding midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

With incumbent Atletico captain and holding midfielder Koke getting closer to retirement, Amrabat is viewed as his ideal successor.

Amrabat's stock has risen since his impressive performances for Morocco at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in which he spearheaded the Atlas Lions' run to the semifinals, which made the North African nation the first country from Africa to make it to the last four of the global showpiece.

The 26-year-old is believed to be Atleti boss Diego Simeone's first choice, while the Madrid outfit are also keeping close tabs on Barcelona's Franck Kessie and Marco Verratti of Paris Saint-Germain.
