According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, Zidane is not in contention for the Bayern managerial role.
Instead, Bayern Munich have set their sights on Roberto De Zerbi from Brighton and Julian Nagelsmann, the current Germany manager who previously managed Bayern from 2021 to 2023.
This development comes shortly after Bayer Leverkusen's manager, Xabi Alonso, confirmed his decision to remain with the Bundesliga outfit despite strong interest from both Bayern Munich and Liverpool.
Alonso's loyalty to Leverkusen, who currently lead the Bundesliga standings, has surprised many in the footballing world and forced both Bayern and Liverpool to explore other options for their managerial vacancies.
Zidane, known for his successful stints at Real Madrid where he won La Liga twice and the Champions League three times, appears to be continuing his hiatus from coaching.
As the search for Tuchel's successor heats up, Bayern Munich, currently in second place in the Bundesliga, are preparing to face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, Alonso's Leverkusen will take on Hoffenheim earlier in the afternoon.
