Rodrygo and Lucas Vazquez join Real Madrid's injury list

Real Madrid face another injury setback as Carlo Ancelotti confirms that both Lucas Vazquez and Rodrygo are sidelined for over a month due to muscle injuries.

The club's medical team diagnosed the injuries following Real's recent 4-0 win over Osasuna, with both players now out of action and awaiting further assessment to determine precise return dates.

Rodrygo sustained an injury to his left thigh, specifically to the rectus femoris muscle, while Lucas Vazquez is recovering from an adductor strain in the same leg.

Club reports suggest Vazquez will need around four weeks to recover fully, while Rodrygo could be out for five to six weeks as he undergoes rehabilitation for his more severe strain.

These setbacks add to Real Madrid's growing list of sidelined players, which already includes prominent names such as Eder Militao, Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, Aurelien Tchouameni and Thibaut Courtois.

The injury toll, now affecting seven players, has forced Ancelotti to rethink his tactical plans and team structure as the club grapples with a demanding schedule.

Ancelotti is expected to make adjustments to compensate for the absences as his fit players return to Valdebebas to prepare for upcoming matches.

With the January transfer window on the horizon, the Italian manager will be considering options for reinforcements, particularly given the need for a bolstered squad amid the injury crisis.
