Lukaku, the Belgium international, has been heavily linked with a move to Napoli as a potential replacement for Osimhen.
Osimhen, who has attracted considerable interest from top European clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, seemed poised for a high-profile transfer.
Talks between PSG and Napoli were reported to have taken place but ultimately did not lead to an agreement. Napoli's insistence on including Lee Kang-in in the deal and PSG's refusal to meet Osimhen's release clause were seen as significant stumbling blocks.
In a statement to Napoli Magazine, Morabito clarified the situation regarding Lukaku and Osimhen. "Lukaku? He is on his way to Napoli. Even if Osimhen stays, the Belgian will still arrive in Napoli," Morabito stated.
This remark has suggested that Napoli's interest in Lukaku was not contingent on Osimhen's potential departure.
Osimhen's journey with Napoli began in the summer of 2020 after an impressive stint with Lille. In his time at the French club, he scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 27 appearances. His solid performances earned him the Prix Marc-Vivien Foe, awarded to the best African player in Ligue 1.
As the summer transfer window progresses, the uncertainty around Osimhen's future has continued to be a hot topic. However, Morabito's comments provide clarity on Lukaku's likely arrival at Napoli, indicating that the Belgian striker's move is imminent regardless of Osimhen's status at the club.
