SA football still needs a visionary leader like Kaizer Motaung - Arthur Zwane

Newly-appointed AmaZulu co-coach Arthur Zwane says Kaizer Chiefs supremo Kaizer Motaung has played a huge role in uplifting the local game and wishes he can still be available to serve more years.

Motaung, a formidable force in South African football – both as a player, coach, and administrator, celebrates his 80th birthday today.

Zwane, an Amakhosi stalwart himself – having played and coached the club at various levels, says what Motaung has done for SA football is immeasurable.

"I'm grateful and thankful to him for giving me that opportunity, and he saw something in me that I didn't see, and I appreciate him, and I would like to wish him well," said Zwane.

"I wish God can keep him and give him more years because he's very, very important for South African football, and he's also important for the team [Chiefs] – if you look at where the team is today, it's because of his hard work and being a visionary as well.

"He's a different person altogether, he's blessed so much, so I appreciate having rubbed shoulders with such people."

Zwane, who just recently left his role as Chiefs’ Head of Academy to join Usuthu, says ‘Chincha Guluva’ is also a fortune teller, judging by how things have happened in his own football career.

"All the things he said to me actually manifested, I've seen those things happening and I even said to myself as some stage, 'Maybe he's a fortune teller,' because most of the things he said happened," added '10111'.
