SAFA door not closed to ex-CEO Tebogo Motlanthe

SAFA President Danny Jordaan is not ruling out the possible return of former Chief Executive Officer Advocate Tebogo Motlanthe.

Jordaan recently shared that Motlanthe is back working with SAFA on a consultancy basis at the moment, this after he resigned from his CEO position early last year.

In a letter leaked to the public – that he later denied writing – Motlanthe allegedly cited being treated like a glorified clerk as one of his reasons for resigning, but Jordaan has revealed he’s back on a legal advisory basis.

"He's a legal advisor and he helped with the [ABC Motsepe League National Play-offs] and we are happy to have him – he's made a great contribution to SAFA, and he will continue to contribute, we are very happy with him," Jordaan told members of the media.

Motlanthe was present at the annual congress in Kempton Park in April, and recently oversaw the disciplinary cases that were brought by ABC Motsepe League teams before and during the national play-offs.

Asked bout his future prospects, Jordaan refused to rule out his permanent return.

"Well, we will talk to him about that in the future," responded the SAFA boss.
