If all goes according to plan, the tournament will be played towards the end of the season in the October, November or December, intending to put more money into the pockets of teams.
Speaking exclusively to SABC Sport, Klip added that the only obstacle standing in their way is getting a partner or a sponsor to foot the bill for the new women’s football cup competition.
"We need to introduce a cup competition, of which we were planning to have it around October, November, December, before we close the season. I think that one will also encourage clubs even those who did not make to position 1, position 2 but they can use this cup competition at least to give them more incentives in terms of price money,” Klip said.
“So, we are planning that cup competition around that. As soon as we have a sponsor or any company that is prepared to partner with us, we'll be able to introduce that sponsor but definitely we might have a cup competition around those months."
With 2025 the year of the WAFCON, Klip says they have accommodated all stakeholders for the smooth running of the season – this includes Banyana Banyana as well as the university teams who are involved annually in the Varsity Football and USSA games competitions.
The Hollywoodbets Super League currently has six university teams.
"Definitely, we are expecting an exciting season so at least now we invited the team manager, the national coach was part of the workshop, previously she was not part of our workshops at least today she was there,” he added.
“Two team managers managed to present their programme so that when we do our planning for the fixtures we can accommodate them and also we'll have Varsity Cup as well as part of our plan because we don't want to take away universities being part of our fixture programme.
“So, we have included everyone, all the stake holders are part of the programme and I hope that this year will be exciting and then with all other programmes like Varsity Cup, USSA and Banyana Banyana will have an opportunity to get into our future programme."
