Sebastian Hoeness eyes key Stuttgart clash at Borussia-Park

VfB Stuttgart head coach Sebastian Hoeness provided an injury update and shared his expectations ahead of their Matchday 3 trip to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Despite a rocky start to the Bundesliga season, Stuttgart are determined to secure a positive result at Borussia-Park.

"Our injury list is thankfully getting shorter," Hoeness said during Thursday's press conference.

He confirmed that Nicolas Nartey, Leonidas Stergiou, and Ameen Al-Dakhil remained unavailable, while Frans Kratzig was a doubt due to a calf issue sustained on international duty.

However, Anthony Rouault returned to full training and was in contention for the squad. Players returning from international matches also participated in Thursday's session.

Looking ahead to the game, Hoeness praised Gladbach's form, acknowledging their recent 2-0 victory over VfL Bochum.

He highlighted the impact of new signings Kevin Stoger and Tim Kleindienst, who had boosted the team. "They've made a big difference, and there's a sense of optimism around Gladbach.

"It's always a tough place to go, so we must be at our best," he said.

When asked about Stuttgart's slow start, with only one point from two games, Hoeness stressed the importance of maintaining a strong attitude.

"Results matter for our development. We'll do everything to get a good result and improve," he concluded.
