Sekhukhune United consolidate top four position after beating Amazulu

Sekhukhune United consolidated their spot in the top four of the Betway Premiership after a 2-0 away victory against Amazulu at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday.

Andy Boyeli netted in the first half while Linda Mntambo scored deep into stoppage-time to seal the three points for Babina Noko.

Lesedi Kapinga had the first goal-scoring opportunity of the encounter but saw his long-range effort saved by home goalkeeper  Richard Ofori.

Usuthu almost went ahead but shot narrowly wide from just inside the penalty area after being teed up by Rowan Human.

The visitors then made it 1-0 on the stroke of halftime after clever touch from Kapinga allowed Boyeli to drive into a shooting position, hold off a defender and provide a low finish past Ofori.

The second half was bereft of any clear-cut opportunities until 10 minutes from full-time when Bongani Zungu went close to finding the equaliser for the hosts.

Sekhukhune were able to add a second goal deep in referee's added time, catching AmaZulu on the break as Mntambo squeezed a shot past Ofori to wrap up a 2-0 triumph.
