However, during his testimony, the Sevilla defender attempted to distance himself from the accusations, pointing the finger at one of his friends, Acosta Alexis, according to Mundo Deportivo.

"(The victim) angrily screamed, blaming me entirely for not taking care of her. I couldn't comprehend what she meant. She informed me that (Acosta) Alexis had driven her home, and prior to that, they had been inside my father's parked car on the premises."

Montiel's future with Los Nervionenses next season hangs in the balance amid this controversy.
