Despite the window closing, Sevilla's phones are still buzzing with negotiations, according to a report by MARCA.
Ocampos, who missed Sevilla's recent clash with Girona due to a knee injury and was also sidelined for the Mallorca match, has reached a three-year agreement with Rayados de Monterrey. However, the deal hinges on finalising terms between the two clubs.
Rayados' initial bid of 4 million euros was swiftly turned down by Sevilla. The Andalusians are holding out for at least 6 million, reflecting their valuation of Ocampos.
The negotiations remain tense, with Sevilla eager to close the deal without dragging it out further. "We need to resolve this swiftly," said a Sevilla insider. "It's crucial to finalise the terms and move forward."
Sevilla's coach, GarcÃa Pimienta, is uncertain whether to accept Ocampos' departure as inevitable, but there's a growing sense that his time at the club is up. With Ocampos keen to leave and Sevilla looking to recoup funds in his final contract year, the situation is becoming increasingly urgent.
Adding to the complexity, Sevilla are also in need of a high-quality replacement. With the transfer window closed, their only option is to seek out free agents.
Enter Memphis Depay. The Dutch forward, known for his goal-scoring prowess, is reportedly in advanced talks with Sevilla. His arrival could provide the attacking boost Sevilla needs, particularly after a market window marked by financial constraints.
As Ocampos prepares for Monterrey, Depay is ready to step into the breach.
