The 19-year-old has been roped in to be part of the squad to face Senegal in two friendly matches early in June.
What is even more exciting for her is that she will have a familiar face around her after teammate Ayesha Moosa was also included in the South African Senior Women’s National team for the upcoming assignments.
SABC Sport visited Macomo at UJ Ladies’ training session in Johannesburg.
"I am very excited, my first call-up and I'm looking forward to it especially to see the players that are gonna be there and to experience that. Playing against those African countries, I'm looking forward to it,” Macomo said.
“The thing I'm looking forward to the most is probably learning from them, seeing what they do to stay in Banyana, getting call ups consistently like that so I'd looking to learn from them. I'd like to get an insight on their mindset, what they do when they go through difficult things, when they play, what they do to prepare for the game, I think I can just learn a lot from them."
While this is her first Banyana Banyana call-up, Macomo is not new to the national team set-up. She started off at the famous SAFA Girls Academy, situated at the High-Performance Centre (HPC) at the University of Pretoria, and has produced most Banyana Banyana players.
Macomo has already played for the South African U17 and U20 Women’s National teams but is finally making the progression to senior level.
"I think it's good, it reflects on the development also going to back to HPC, the academy I think it's just showing the development and I'm excited about it and I'm happy. I'm just looking forward to training and showing what I can do," Macomo added.
