Defender Vusi Sibiya broke the deadlock before striker Iqraam Rayners scored twice on a day Barker’s side remembered promising young defender Oshwin Andries, who died last Saturday.
The coach wants to build on from this.
"I thought this was a really solid performance. To win 3-0, keep a clean sheet and advance to the next round of the cup after the week that the club has had. I think it was a testimony to the players that they're pulling through and obviously a victory today continues to pull in a momentum after the two league wins. We don't play next week, so we can focus on the memorial service and the passing of Ashwin. His funeral is next week Saturday," he said.
Stellies were in complete control, though Barker felt they could have added to the scoreline.
"I'm very happy, I thought we controlled the majority of the game. I felt that the game almost pitted out a bit the last 15/20 minutes. The scoreline just became a bit too easy, so I wanted a little bit more just to be a bit more positive. But at the same time the players had done really well to get that lead and sometimes they just need to enjoy the ball and just see out the game the way they did," he concluded.
