Stellenbosch looking to keep winning momentum against Cape Town Spurs

Stellenbosch will be firm favourites to pick up all three points when they take on cross-town rivals Cape Town Spurs in a derby clash on Tuesday.

Stellies have had a decent start to the season, currently sitting seventh in the standings after five wins in 12 matches.

Steve Barker's charges are also unbeaten in their last three encounters and come off a 1-0 away victory over Amazulu on Saturday.

Spurs, on the other hand, are rock bottom on the table having only won once in 12 games all season.

Experienced German mentor Ernst Middendorp has come in to take over the head coaching reins but started with a defeat as he watched his team go down 2-1 to Royal AM last weekend.

Victory for Stellies could take them up to fourth spot, while three points for Spurs would leave them rooted to the foot of the table but narrow the gap on 15th-placed Richards Bay to four points.
