Komphela has a unique insight on how the Brazilians plan for the opposition having spent three seasons at Chloorkop prior to joining the Dube Birds last month.
The former Kaizer Chiefs mentor is looking for his first win at Swallows but knows it won’t be handed on a platter against Downs.
"There's always something very special they bring and I'm fully aware of possibilities because they would have looked at us. I'm sure they must have sent someone to come to Dobsonville yesterday to watch us against Cape Town City," Komphela said.
"They will be looking at; okay in offense what does Moroka Swallows do and how do we then take the opportunity? Because preparation is all about defense and attack."
For Komphela, the fixture is easier to plan for – but he adds it’s crucial not to overload the Swallows players with information.
"So, those are all things that I'm aware of, I know but how much of that information do you give to players? How much of it sticks? and how much of it, even if it has stuck, how long does it stay for 90 minutes and possibly we can even go for 120 minutes and we know the more you get tired then your mind starts to give in and you start to forget a lot of things."
