The three-time African champions remain sixth in the African continental standings, trailing Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Cote d'Ivoire, and Tunisia.
In the rankings, Nigeria's closest African rivals include Algeria, Cameroon, Mali, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, who sit just below them in the top 10.
During the ranking period, the Super Eagles enjoyed a strong 3-0 victory over Benin Republic in an AFCON 2025 qualifier held in Uyo but were held to a goalless draw against Rwanda in Kigali.
This mixed performance resulted in a marginal drop in points, with Nigeria losing 0.91 points, dropping from 1498.93 to 1498.02.
South Africa, one of Nigeria's 2026 World Cup qualifying group rivals, currently sit just outside the top 10 in 11th place.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars of Ghana, another major regional competitor, have fallen to 14th following a defeat to Angola and a draw against Niger in their AFCON qualifying matches.
Globally, Argentina maintained their position at the top of the FIFA rankings, followed by France, Spain, England, and Brazil.
