Matsatsantsa have won one of their last four games and there’s been a lot of travelling in between…especially with their home matches played in Polokwane, a reality Hunt has been vocal about.
The coach explained why it’s costing them points.
"We had a better team and that's for sure, we are much better than that but you could see mentally we are very drained. What's we going through, it's draining us and obviously we don't train. We haven't had any training sessions," Hunt said.
"We play Friday again miles away, so there's no training and you gonna pick up injuries and things like that. Which we've got already and red cards, so these things are gonna happen. So, ya, that's football but we are gonna try and battle through and see where we go."
With captain and defender Thulani Hlatshwayo sent off in the second half, Chippa used their numerical advantage and finally broke the deadlock via striker Elmo Kambindu to push the hosts to fourth on the log table.
A dejected Hunt felt SuperSport lost a chance to close the gap on leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who face Stellenbosch tonight.
"Tonight, was a big opportunity for us to try and get above two points a game. You're gonna need 2,5 points a game but I mean right now it's still six games, so it's a long, long way to go," the coach explained.
SuperSport have been picked as potential title challengers this season by pundits, but Hunt spotted areas that need to improve from the Chippa defeat.
"I thought we were the better side in the second half, played better but obviously didn't create too many openings, just when we got around there, we don't make the final pass count. So, disappointed but they were better than us tonight, so that's it."
