Tim Sukazi calls on PSL clubs to join HWBSL amid growing interest

TS Galaxy president Tim Sukazi believes the growing support for the women's game warrants more Premier Soccer League clubs establishing teams in the Hollywoodbets Super League.

Galaxy Queens enjoyed a healthy turnout at Kanyamazane Stadium, outside of Nelspruit, as they beat TUT Matsatsantsa Ladies 2-1 in a league encounter on Sunday.

Sukazi, who was in attendance, praised the level of support, and further called on The Rockets' Betway Premiership rivals to make use of the heightening interest in the women's game.

Hopefully some of our sister clubs in Betway Premiership will also see value in the women's game, and try to join – it will give even bigger and better credence to our women's game," said Sukazi.

"I think the time is now, there's no [better] time. I see no reason why clubs should be shying away from being part of our women's football.

"In any event, as a country, we have proven to be one of the strongest – if not the strongest – on the continent, or at least among the top 16 in the world, if you were to judge by our performance in the last FIFA Women's World Cup, so why not?

"To me, it just defies logic seeing most of our clubs not taking part in this league. I think the time is now, I'm calling for it – every club in the Betway Premiership needs to be part of this league, at least to give it a concerted effort.

"Stellenbosch FC are in it now, although they are still in the Sasol League, and I'm sure they will [gain promotion], so it will be one more, but then where are the others? I think the time is now!"
