She is now on the books of TP Mazembe Ladies from DR Congo, who recently qualified for the continental finals alongside defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and newcomers University of the Western Cape (UWC).
With eight teams in the draw, Mohlakoana will certainly meet one of the South African teams at the tournament.
"Having to face Sundowns and UWC, I think we’ll just have to go there as a team and play the football that we know. It is gonna be a bit difficult because both teams are good, so we'll see what will happen but then I'm looking forward to playing both teams from South Africa," Mohlakoana said.
Pana, as she is commonly called by her peers, is over the moon about her debut in the CAF Women’s Champions League.
"I'm very excited now that I'm going to play in the Champions League and as you know that this is my first time playing in the Champions League so I'm very happy and very excited," she added.
Mohlakoana says although they had a different system of qualifying for the continental finals, it still proved a little difficult in the end.
"Having to qualify for this Champions League, it was very difficult because this side there were only four teams, so we played only three games. We won two games and the last game, we played a draw so that's how we managed to qualify for the Champions League but then it wasn't easy, it wasn't easy at all. So, I'm happy that we managed to win those games and qualify for Champions League."
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies are the defending champions of the CAF Women’s Champions League, while UWC won the CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA qualifier to book their spot in the continental finals scheduled for later this year.
