Khiba has been a key player for The Rockets so far this season having only missed two matches, making him an immediate target for suitors like the Soweto giants as well as Stellies.
SABC Sport understands that Galaxy are more than willing to open talks for the sale to go ahead given that chairman Tim Sukazi has made it no secret that they are a selling club when the price is right.
It’s understood Pirates are searching for a box-to-box midfielder to beef up coach Jose Riveiro’s squad in the second half of the campaign, while Stellies now have funds to replace Jayden Adams.
Adams is set to move to Mamelodi Sundowns in a multi-million deal that was concluded by the two clubs over the weekend.
Stellies first enquired about Khiba prior to the start of the 2024/25 season when in talks with Galaxy over striker Bradley Mojela.
But the deal did not materialise, with only Mojela moving to The Winelands to work under coach Steve Barker.
Pirates are not known to engage in bidding wars, therefore if Galaxy are undecided on which way to go it’s then likely that Stellies could emerge as favourites to land Khiba considering that they have the money to spend at the moment.
