Speaking to SABC Sport, Vilakazi weighed in on what’s become a common theme in the DStv Premiership as the same names are constantly recycled.
The ex-Bafana Bafana international, currently working on obtaining his coaching badges, wants to see progress and doors opened for fresh faces.
"My worry with our standard of coaching is that I find it difficult to accept or deal with [instances] where I see four or five of the same people at club A, after a couple of months, he's at club D, after a couple of months to a year, he's at club C," said Vilakazi.
"But you still see the very same face, so I'm asking myself, what criteria are the team owners using to employ coaches – if coach A was coaching team C, and he failed?
"And then you think, [for that coach] to come to team D, and coach them to win the league, it's impossible."
‘Tso’ singled out an exception – coach Dan Malesela, who was recently suspended by Baroka FC despite leading them into the promotion play-offs.
"One coach that always stands out for me, and I will always respect that coach no matter what – he's a coach that doesn't rely on saying. 'When I get to that team, I need player B, player A, and player D', no," he added.
"He gets to a team, works with what he's got there in the team, and still achieves – that coach is Coach Dance. If you check his record, he went to Chippa [United], never bought any player, or told Chippa [Mpengesi], 'I want this player.'
"No, he worked with those players and he did well, and he [also] did that with TS Galaxy. Right now, he did that with what's this team? Baroka."
